| Hello, everyone. I'm 17 years old, still in high school and I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. My musical life began when I was five years old when my mom first introduced me to musical instruments. I've taken piano and organ lessons ever since, but stopped recently, having decided to concentrate on midi sequencing. |
| When I got my first MIDI file, I thought, 'Hey, this file is cool, it can make my computer produce sound!' And then I started to collect more files from all over the web. I still look for my favorite songs, and sometimes it can take 3-5 hours of midi-hunting just to find one I'm looking for, but I enjoy doing it. Once, when I got desperate because my most-wanted-song was nowhere to find, I started thinking about making a midi of my own. I got a copy of Cakewalk and with that, and no equipment, I sequenced my first song. I think I used the most old-fashioned way of doing that, typing in the notes one by one with my beloved mouse. A few months after I started sequencing, I got myself a midi cable and connected my keyboard to my computer. The keyboard doesn't help too much (it can't make special effects or patches like all those hi-tech ones), but it really decreases my burden of 'endless typing'. |
