| Although Brandon is only 17 years old, he has achieved what many of us will not be able to accomplish after many years of sequencing experience. | |||||
| Once is a Fantasia based on an epic poem about the search for a unicorn. It is divided into three distinct sections, "The Unicorn", "The Search" and the "Requiem". | |||||
| The following is Brandon's own words relating to the creation of this work: | |||||
| "I dedicated this to my girlfriend, who, at the time, I thought loved me very deeply. She has since dumped me, and as painful as it may be, the song is still my love for her embodied...and neither the song, nor the dedication can be erased. So forever will it stand, a testament of my devotion, and the shrine of a love that was not meant to be. The dedication forever reads: 'I write this for my dearest Kathryn...Through you I have found the part of me that was always missing, the part that yearned to be, but never could. For it exists only because of you, and only for you. This music is my love in it's truest form; it contains my heart and my sound. And it's all for you. I can find no other way to thank you; even this seems inadequate. You complete me, and for that I shall be forever yours. I love you, forever over all.'" | |||||
