STUDIO OF DALE ASTON
Welcome to my WALL OF SOUND. Music that's solid as a rock.
I live in Dallas, Texas, USA. I've been sequencing since 1997 and strive for realism in my work. I spend a lot of time in the orchestration and editing phase of recording midi files. Producing about one or two new sequences each month, I prefer to spend more time on each project as I strive to overcome the limitations of "computer music". In January 1999, I began remixing and editing all of my files use XG Edit 95. While my midis are now formatted specifically for the SW1000XG and other Yamaha XG equipment, they should sound much better on any sound card. If you heard my work before March 1, 1999, I'd suggest you download them again and hear the difference.
I record Top 40 songs from my generation, a few original songs and new tunes I find melodic and well written. My main influences are The Beatles, Clapton, Chicago and the great R&B bands from the sixties. Various blues artists and the "British invasion" collectively formed the foundation for my musical interest. My files are for personal enjoyment only and are not to be sold or distributed for profit in any way.
Now a plug for some great products. Yamaha's XG system has raised the bar for home musicians and brought studio quality sound recording, both midi and audio, to the PC desktop. I highly recommend XG equipment. I use the SW1000XG sound card along with Gary Gregson's midi editor, XG Edit 95. Good midi editing software is imperative if you are to realize the full potential in your sound card.
Now, please tour my studio to see my equipment setup and hear or download my midi sequences. There's something here for everyone. Remember that musicians live for the applause but since you're miles away, your e-mail will do.
